Privacy
Most geology exploration works without an account. Accounts store an email address, a password hash, and a display name. Logged-in users may also store private find locations, mineral names, notes, observations, and uploaded photos.
Finds and observations are private by default. When you choose to share one, you can publish an approximate or exact location along with its selected details. Do not submit sensitive locations or material you do not have permission to share.
Location searches and browser coordinates may be sent to public third-party data services to provide maps, geology, fossils, earthquakes, trails, museums, and deep-time reconstructions. UnderMe uses an HTTP-only session cookie and local storage for offline field data.
